The original disco light was invented around the early 1900’s. Before the beginning of the First World War, it was discovered that one beam of light could be split up and shot out of a multi-mirrored sphere. Before this invention was given the name disco ball, it was called a mirror ball. In its early days the mirror ball was installed with red lenses which provided the room with a warm ambience. A spotlight was positioned behind the red lenses with a spinning wheel in front of it, creating the desired effect. Disco goers loved these
DJ lights because it would make the ladies underwear glow, making them visible.
The first real DJ light was invented back in 1968. An intelligent inventor decided to harness light using electronics. His idea was to transmit beams to different frequencies. The original idea was with a three channel frequency. In conclusion the light from the =disco light= would play in harmony with the bass and treble of the music. This was the first time that sound to light was used.
Today
disco lights are highly advanced light transmitting systems. The original inventors of this system could have never imagined their idea would ever get so technologically advanced. Without the original structural work of the earliest mirror ball, the disco lights of today wouldn’t exist. Disco balls are used all over the world, they are in every club, disco, and dance area, so much so that it seems like a party isn’t a party without disco lights.
