Aquarium Lights

Saltwater aquarium lights and fish lamps

saltwater aquarium fish lamps An aquarium is a specifically designed and constructed housing facility for fish and other aquatic organisms. Many fish do not need or require the presence of light. However, some species of fish need the light. The aquarium lamp was developed for two reasons: to offer aquatic organisms the energy and functionality of light, and to light up the aquarium for deco rational purposes.

Since a light bulb uses components that are prone to rust and other deformities when exposed to water, a regular lamp cannot be used. A fish lamp is more resistant to wet conditions. It is a proven fact that salt water damages metal much faster than normal fresh water. It is for that reason why developers invented the saltwater aquarium lights. The metal connectors are coated to stop corrosion and prolong the life of the lamp.

aquarium lightsAquarium lights are one of the most important components in the whole aquarium set up. Some coral reef species require adequate amounts of light to live and to release their complex coloring schemes. The fish and reefs aren’t the only ones that need an aquarium lamp, these aquarium lights also illuminate the tank allowing viewers to see everything in the aquarium in all its glory.

There are two main types of regular and saltwater aquarium lights. The first type of light is the incandescent light. An incandescent light bulb emits light using the energy of heat. The second most commonly used aquarium lamp is the fluorescent light. A fluorescent light bulb emits light using the energy of radiation. Fluorescent lights produce a higher level of lighting compared to an incandescent aquarium lamp.

The soul purpose of an aquarium lamp is to illuminate the aquarium. Do not even dream of using an aquarium light as an aquarium heater. An aquatic light is designed to give light and will not provide the amount of heat that some aquatic animals require for survival. A heater will safely provide the aquarium with the exact amount of heat its attendants require. Make sure you get quality parts because quality aquarium lamp bulbs and other supplies will prolong the life of your animals.
